I first got my taste of the art of jewelry making when I was sixteen. I
had always been an artistic person, and when I took a high school
jewelry making class, I knew that I had found my future. The summer
after my junior year I was able to secure employment as an apprentice
with a local jeweler. I spent the next few years learning everything
that I could from him, up until the time that I left to serve a mission
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Buenos Aires,
Argentina.
After
I returned from my mission, I attended Southern Virginia University (SVU)
for a semester, before deciding to attend the Gemological Institute of
America (GIA). During that one semester at SVU, I met my future wife,
Elisabeth. We were married in the Washington DC temple. While I was
taking the Graduate Jeweler course at GIA, my wife worked there as a
diamond grader. After I completed my training, I also started to work
for GIA. We were there for a year when we learned that Lis was pregnant.
Delegating child care to someone else was not the most desirable option
for us, so we packed up and moved back to my home state of Indiana,
where we could survive on one income. When we moved to Indiana I began
to seriously pursue my dream of making quality jewelry for the
Latter-Day Saint community.

Making LDS jewelry has been a longtime dream for me, mostly because I
have always been frustrated about the lack of quality, adult LDS
jewelry, especially for men. The majority of LDS jewelry currently on
the market targets teens. It is mass produced with cheap
materials, and is not meant to be anything more than a short-term
fashion accessory. It is my goal and mission to bring a more
sophisticated, quality, adult-oriented line of jewelry to the LDS
community. I want to make jewelry that can become a family
keepsake - jewelry that not only has aesthetic appeal, but that serves
as a reminder of the values and standards that we have made sacred
covenants to uphold.
My products are not cookie-cutter costume jewelry made in a factory from
the cheapest materials available. I am a one man operation: I
design, make and finish EVERY single piece of jewelry I sell. This
allows me to guarantee that every adornment in my inventory meets my
high standards; if I wouldn't wear it, or let my wife wear it, then I
certainly will not sell it to you. Above all, I just want to serve the church and its membership. Five
percent of the proceeds from all of my jewelry sales are donated to
either the missionary fund, temple fund, or an alternate fund of YOUR
choice. I love the church and I love the Lord. I am very thankful for
the talents and opportunities that our Heavenly Father has given me.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or advice
that you might have. I want to hear from you, and I want to serve you.
Thank you for your service to the church and our Heavenly Father.
Your Brother,
Joshua D. Sanchez
